Community Spotlight: Nature Folk

If you’re getting this newsletter then you know Sprout Therapy, you’ve likely had our juice or done a cleanse from us, wellness is our goal. In an effort to spread wellness throughout the community we want to shine a spotlight on businesses who provide our juice as well as provide other services to their customers. Businesses that offer other means of wellness as living a balanced lifestyle is more than just focusing on your diet. Physical and mental wellness is just as important.

This week we would like to shine a light on Nature Folk. 

Who is Nature Folk?

Nature Folk is an urban wellness destination with incredible services all in one space: massage therapy, osteopathy, naturopathic medicine, weekly yoga classes, day retreats, workshops, a thermal circuit, including dry saunas, hot pool, cold plunge, ritual skincare offerings, private infrared saunas, and clean skincare.  We are so proud to have gathered a team of talented, dedicated practitioners and staff--they are truly solid gold…  

Nature Folk is owned and operated by Ashley Cluett, Kristen Morse and Anna Tremblay and is the expression of our unique backgrounds, education, and passions. What unifies our vision is a commitment to excellent + inclusive client service, a collaborative approach with our staff, and a deeply-rooted dedication to improving the health of our community.  We began in a smaller location on Portland St. in 2019 and expanded in 2022 to the former Dartmouth City Hall on the waterfront.

We are committed to making our space accessible and inclusive and that includes regularly offering 5 and 10 passes for the circuit, private infrareds, and yoga classes that are a great value!  

What is your favourite Sprout Therapy Juice?

Our favourite juice has to be the Eventide, which is a juice we collaboratively created with Sprout as the ultimate hydrating post-sauna elixir. We often describe its flavour as a "virgin mojito"--pineapple, lime, spinach, a pinch of salt--it's summer in a bottle ! 

Good health is about slowing down, simplifying, and prioritizing what makes us more sane and more resilient.  The science is clear on how we can best support ourselves (regular saunas are longevity powerhouses, says a growing number of research articles on the topic)--now it's our turn to step towards those practices with self-love and let's face it, a little focus (in other words, quieting down the chatter that asks for our attention endlessly). 

Fun fact:

What once was the Council Chambers for the city of Dartmouth is now home to our Thermal Circuit.  Where decisions were made boisterously, enthusiastically or maybe even contentiously is now where folks make those same kinds of important decisions--albeit a bit more quietly--for themselves, in the context of contemplation, community, and with the spirit of intuitive self-care.  There are all kinds of ways to elevate the conversation and our hope is that Nature Folk provides a safe, inspired container for everyone to cultivate their unique voice in that bigger conversation.
